£116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
So we earned/won £116,094,523 in Prize/TV money for the season just finished. This doesn't include other income such as tickets, sponsorship, advertising etc.

So let's have a guess at what our transfer window spend will be this summer. Gross and Nett

I'm going for Gross £52.6m
Nett £25.2m

Re: £116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
There’s no reason why we can’t shell out 100m on transfers.

....will NEVER happen though

Re: £116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
Let me see, add, 3 times gross income, less the number of the square root of the net stipend due at the end of the fiscal year leaves us with a transfer budget of

£3 pounds roughly and an old copy of the Beezer

(David don't forget the £11 million each in interest on the loans that we get)

Id like us to sign some good players and lose some of our shite. It costs what it costs and spending for the sake of spending gives you Jordan Hugills.

Re: £116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
As a rough estimate I reckon our income & Exp is:

TV Money 116m
ST sales 35m
Matchday ticket sales 4m
Corporate etc.. 10m ??
Merchandise, food & drink share 10m

Total income 175m (ish)

Expenditure:

Players wages 80m
Other wages 5m
OS Rent & Training grounds etc.. 5m
Other 10m

Total Exp 100m

We should make a trading actual profit (pre transfers, interest on loans etc..) of around 75m

We have failed to spend anything like that since the Sky money kicked in so we should either have built up a big 'kitty' or cleared a whole load of debt.

Now is the time for G&S to stop fucking around and put the wrongs of the last four transfer windows right.... minimum of 60m + transfer proceeds. i.e. net spend of at least 60m

Anything less than that and they are having a (big) laugh!

Re: £116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
Next level spending... 30 - 50 million with 20 - 30 million coming back in. Net spend 20 - 30 million max.

Spend it wisely and shrewdly on where it is needed rather than the usual "razzle dazzle" signings.

Seeing is believing.

I reckon we'll do loads of loans with an option to buy

you know the sort of structure that no other club is interested in unless theyre desperate to offload some shit.

Ludo, our accounts to May 2017 are a matter of public record. The wage bill was £95 million.

Why don't you look at those accounts and base your predictions on them?

Re: £116m Prize money - Guess our Transfer Spend
im not bothered how much we spend , as long as the players we get are an improvement on what we have and the glaring holes in our squad are sorted out. Whether thats done by shelling out 120 million or by signing 10 free transfers i don't care as long as they're not sully punts or 35 year old has beens.

If we spent the lot, about a third of it would be spent wisely.

If we were lucky.
